Sometimes the truth is hard, uncompromising, and even embarrassing. Regardless, life without truth is not a life at all, but a deception. The following article is one such voice in an unapologetic declaration of historical truth. While many would love to rewrite history to either make it less offence, or in order to create an illusion of legitimacy for some current illegal action, there can be no acceptable substitute for the reality of truth. I am privileged to be able to reprint the entire article here for your review and consideration. Please click on the 'Read More' option below. Shalom Aleichem |

Over the past several years I have been confronted, off and on, with posts, email, sermons, etc. that had a common thread among many of them, i.e., you say that you are a believer in Jesus Christ. How nice, but the real question is, “Are you a disciple of Jesus Christ?” The response I have given to myself is, “Sure, I am a disciple of Jesus.” However, that was a deception, because as a believer I considered that to be the same thing as being a disciple. Second, it was a lie to the Holy Spirit. I was making an assumption that I was something that I was not. Being a believer in HaMaschiah Yeshua is one thing, being counted as one of His disciples is something else altogether. There are three different groups of Christians, there are the believers, the followers and the disciples. There are those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God. That’s good but not enough. Satan also knows that Jesus is the Christ, but that hasn’t done Him any good! Then there are the followers of Jesus. That’s good too, but these folks will quickly slip away when the going gets a little rough. These two groups may have a mental assent as to who and/or what Jesus is but there is no personal relationship or commitment. What I have been doing over the years is the very same thing most other ‘Christians’ have been doing – learning a lot about God, trying to understand the association that exists between the three relational manifestations that God has chosen to use for Himself to mankind. Plus, the effort expended in trying to keep up with all of the differing requirements for Christian living that each denomination, group, organization and individual church has decided best represents the acceptable life before God. I find myself in amazement that I ever became a ‘believer’ in Christ. |

While I have been involved in several Bible studies for the second half of 2009, I have not even attempted to write another article for the front page of this community. But, not that we are embarking a new secular year, it seems like this would be a good time to change the words that greet folks who visit here through the front page, rather than accessing the forum directly. Therefore, now is the time and this block is the place that is appropriate from yet another 'new beginning'. While I think there yet remains some areas concerning the Old Testament Law (see the thread, "What is the Law of God") that need to be discussed, I think it is time to pick up with a couple of other important tasks that have been dangling around for much of this past year. In addition to working on several 'promised' translations, a study on a few selected of verses, and another major study on Mathew chapters 5-7 (a long time overdue), and a whole host of troubling questions and subjects that keep challenging the disciples of Jesus Christ, I feel like I am running out of time to address all of these many different issues. So, I am into carefully selecting what I can address and what I must defer elsewhere. |

As a result of the Obama – Netanyahu meeting (5/18/09), sometime over the next four to six weeks expect to hear that, with the concurrence of the leading Arab states, the US (Pres. Obama) will guarantee the security of Israel (using whatever measures might be necessary) when Israel agrees to the Two States for Two People principle. If and when that precept is agreed to, a formal treaty between the US and Israel will be drafted and implemented, but not necessarily ratified, and by 2012-2013 (?) the treaty will no longer be honored. It is time to get one’s house in order, or I have completely misread the signs of the time. |

I ran across this article while surfing the Internet. I pray that it provokes you as it has me. The Question that Changed My Life By David Ryser A number of years ago, I had the privilege of teaching at a school of ministry. My students were hungry for God, and I was constantly searching for ways to challenge them to fall more in love with Jesus and to become voices for revival in the Church. I came across a quote attributed most often to Rev. Sam Pascoe. It is a short version of the history of Christianity, and it goes like this: Christianity started in Palestine as a fellowship; it moved to Greece and became a philosophy; it moved to Italy and became an institution; it moved to Europe and became a culture; it came to America and became an enterprise. |

To our visitors who did not receive the following in their email: A few questions we would like for you to consider and perhaps share your thoughts and ideas on: Are you tired of rehashing the same old religious stuff over and over again and never coming to a definitive conclusion? Would you like to move past that swamp? Do you have an insight into the word and/or Spirit of God that seems to be frequently overlooked or even discounted? |
